— The Sparta Bears attended a Rutgers University football practice at High Point Solutions Stadium in Piscataway on August 25.
Rutgers Coach Rick Mantz emphasized the importance of academics when playing for a BIG10 school.
Mantz took the Sparta Bears players behind the scenes of BIG10 Football where they visited the training room, locker room, workout room and private café. During the tour he described how the athletes start at 6 a.m. and work till 10 p.m. whether in the training room or classroom.
Mantz encouraged them all to come play for Rutgers. The coach inspired them to achieve more, work hard, have fun and remember to respect each other.
The Bears are grateful to Rutgers for hosting the team and inspiring the team to set the bar high.
