Not bombast; realism
Michael C. Busche (letter of Sept. 26: www.spartaindependent.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20170926/OPINION03/170929975/-1/OPINION/Bombastic-Trump-is-an-embarrassment) must have the same perspective of things that Ed Norton had on the ‘Honeymooners’. Permit me to provide him with the fresh air of President Trump’s actual words at the United Nations on September 19th. “As President of the United States, I will always put America first, just like you, as leaders of your countries will always, and should always, put your countries first.” APPLAUSE!
On the threats from Kim Jung Un: “The United States has great strength and patience, but IF it is forced to defend itself or its’ allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea.” Maybe Mr. Busche would prefer a reincarnation of PM Neville Chamberlain. The vast majority of Americans think not.
On the Iranian nuclear accord: “We cannot let a murderous regime continue these destabilizing activities (in the Middle East) while building dangerous missiles, and we cannot abide by an agreement IF it provides for the eventual construction of a nuclear missile program.” APPLAUSE!
What a waste of the $1.7 billion secretly transferred to Iran by the Obama administration! Think of what those monies could do for impoverished U.S. cities.
Maybe Mr. Busche would have preferred an apologist. The world prefers a realist.
I remain factual, objective and unabashed,
