I moved to Sparta in the late 1950s at a time when the cows outnumbered the people.
As a former Sparta Township educator of 40 years, I had the opportunity to teach Marjy Murphy and see her develop into the person she is today: a genuinely compassionate, keenly sensitive and intensely motivated individual.
Presently, Marjy Murphy and Mark Scott, her husband, are directing their combined talents and resourcefulness to run for the Sparta Town Council on Nov. 5.
It is with this in mind that I direct your attention to the Scott-Murphy dedicated commitment to open spaces, clean water and no mega-warehouses as Sparta’s future.
