Witch Hunt!

An oxymoron is our perception of “Witch Hunt,”

And corrupt politics has sustained this affront.

To propagandize societal issues,

As in the Salem and McCarthyism taboos.

Now, to shout “witch hunt” as a criminal defense,

Before reviewing all of the evidence.

To malign justice as a “fishing expedition,”

Then declare our legal system an “inquisition.”

To lament “witch hunt” as a “weaponization,”

And then deceive with an onerous connotation.

But “everyone has equal justice under the law,”

And why our democracy is held in awe.

“Witch Hunt” a conspiracy to protect the guilty,

For society to believe leads to tyranny!
